The Whole Family Approach
When it comes to improving the outlook in life, the entire family unit needs to be raised up. This is why we use the Whole Family Approach, sometimes referred to as the Two Generation Approach. What this means is MVCAA is working with every member of the family unit, aligning their needs and goals with our programs and services, and providing access to other community resources all with the goal of helping that family thrive in our community.
It often starts with our Head Start program where our teachers and caregivers prepare children for kindergarten while also providing a safe childcare option for their parents. Our team then works with the family to complete an assessment that highlights what programs and services they could benefit from and are eligible for.
By focusing on each individual family, we help them determine what their goals are and connect them with the resources and support to get them started.
