Head Start is a comprehensive child development program serving income eligible families with children ranging in age from infancy through five years of age.

The goal of the Early Head Start program is to promote quality care for Missouri’s children birth to age three. 

SkillUP assists and empowers individuals who receive Food Stamps (SNAP) to further their education in a skill or trade or to get employment.  We are here to help you get started on the path to beginning a new future.  Together we can reach your goals.

MVCAA offers a wide variety of workshops and classes to empower our communities with useful tools and resources.

The Community Outreach Specialist will refer the customer for other MVCAA services, as well as community-based services for which the family may qualify.

Many families face a crisis everyday and often live out each day in survival mode. Only through careful assessment of the individual or family situation can MVCAA provide the appropriate support. 

Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8)
The housing choice voucher program is the federal government’s major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own housing.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is designed to assist low income individuals who pay a large proportion of their income in meeting their home energy needs. 

Weatherization’s mission is to reduce energy costs for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, and children, by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety.

One way for people to learn new skills or give back to the community is through volunteering.

MVCAA provides advocacy and support services for low-income and middle-income individuals. The first step is identifying needed services and referring individuals respectively to resources within the agency and/or the community.

MVCAA’s Back-to-School Events offer access to on-site health and wellness services and child safety information for school-aged children. 

Poverty Simulations help the general public become aware of the stinging effects of poverty, and how it impacts families and individuals on a daily basis. This project has been instrumental in building a better understanding of poverty issues, increasing community involvement, and creating more compassion for low-income individuals.
